Ahead of the upcoming Telangana assembly elections, Income Tax officials on Thursday conducted searches at the residence of Miryalaguda BRS MLA Nallamothu Bhaskar Rao in Telangana.
The ongoing raids are being conducted at Rao’s office, residence, and affiliations with close associates, ANI reported.

Nallamothu Bhaskar Rao, hailing from Shakapuram village, Nidamanoor Mandal of Nalgonda District, represents the Miryalaguda constituency in Telangana.
Elected as MLA in 2014 and subsequently re-elected in 2018, Rao was an active participant in the 1969 Telangana Movement as the General Secretary of the Students Union at SR and BGNR College.
Earlier, on November 13, Income Tax officials also conducted searches at the residence of relatives of Telangana minister Sabitha Indra Reddy in Hyderabad. Serving as the Minister for Education since 2019, Reddy is contesting as the BRS candidate from Maheshwaram in the 2023 Assembly elections.

The Income Tax scrutiny extended to the residence of Pradeep, an alleged close relative of Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy.
The upcoming Telangana assembly elections, scheduled for November 30, will witness Sabitha Reddy contesting against Kitchannagari Laxma Reddy of the Congress and Andela Sri Ramulu Yadav of the BJP in the Maheshwaram constituency. Vote counting, along with four other states, is slated for December 3.
In the 2018 Assembly election, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), previously known as Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), secured 88 out of 119 seats, commanding a 47.4% vote share, while the Congress trailed with a distant 19 seats.
