The backward class leaders of the Congress party have held a meeting today to discuss the number of seats being allocated to the backward classes for the upcoming Assembly elections.
Several leaders from Congress who belong to backward classes in Telangana have said that the BC candidates should have at least 34 seats out of the total 119.
The party’s campaign committee chief in the state, Madhu Yashki Goud who is also a former Congress MP, mentioned that the PCC president had notified that at least 34 seats ought to be given to BC candidates.
The Former Congress MP also said that the government cannot be formed without the role of ‘Bahujans’. The PCC president had brought it out that at least 34 seats should be given to backward classes in the upcoming Assembly elections.
The Telangana Assembly Elections 2023 is expected to be held by the end of this year. It is likely to be held in the month of November, 2023 with the results being declared in December, 2023. The voting can occur in a single phase along with the counting and declaration of the result.
In 2014, K Chandrasekhar Rao took oath as the CM and has now ruled in Telangana for two terms. Congress, BJP and the BRS are going to be the main competitors in this election contest.
Four other states are lined up for State Assembly Elections later this year. Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh are other 4 states than Telangana that are to undergo the state elections for the Assembly.
