Tamil Nadu Lok Sabha Election 2024 Winners List: The popular Tamil poll slogan of the ruling DMK, ‘Narpathum namathey, nadum namathey,’ meaning ‘all 40 constituencies are ours and the nation as well,’ became the hallmark of the Dravidian party and its allies’ impressive victory, sweeping all 39 seats in Tamil Nadu and the lone seat in Puducherry.
All 39 parliamentary constituencies of Tamil Nadu went to poll in the first phase of the General Elections on April 19, 2024. In terms of voter turnout, Tamil Nadu recorded a healthy average of 69.46 per cent. Initially, the voter turnout was pegged at 72.09 per cent, however, the figures were revised later. Across all 39 constituencies, Dharmapuri registered the highest turnout of 81.48 per cent turnout, whereas Chennai Central registered the lowest voter turnout of 53.91 per cent. Women voters had a slightly better margin in comparison with the men. While women voters’ turnout stood at 69.85%, the men voter turnout was recorded at 69.58%.

In terms of the last General Elections of 2019, while DMK had won 24 parliamentary seats, Indian National Congress had registered win on 8 seats, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi got 1 seat, CPI(M) and CPI won 2 each, IUML got 1, and AIADMK 1. A resurgent BJP had registered thumping wins in both 2014 and 2019 elections.
