Six workers lost their lives in a tragic explosion at a firecracker manufacturing unit near Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu, on Saturday. The blast reportedly occurred during the chemical mixing process, leading to the collapse of at least one room and resulting in fatalities. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the explosion.
According to the officials, the fire and rescue department has reached the spot.
A similar incident occurred last year when a massive explosion at a firecracker manufacturing unit in Virudhunagar district claimed the lives of at least nine people, with three others reported to be in critical condition. The explosion, which took place under similar circumstances, once again raised concerns over safety standards at such manufacturing units in the region.
