Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi has been admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi due to a stomach-related ailment, the hospital confirmed on Sunday. She is under the care of the gastroenterology department and remains under observation, according to news agency ANI.

Earlier this month, the 78-year-old leader underwent an MRI scan at the Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) in Shimla after she experienced restlessness at her private residence in Chharabra. A doctor at IGMC stated that while her blood pressure was “marginally higher than normal”, she was “normal and stable”.

Naresh Chauhan, principal advisor (media) to Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, had earlier described her Shimla hospital visit as a “routine check-up” for minor health concerns. Gandhi’s condition is currently being monitored by doctors.
