Salman Khan death threat: Gujarat Police have identified the man who had issued a fresh death threat to Bollywood actor Salman Khan. The suspect, a 26-year-old man from a village in the Waghodia region of Vadodara district, allegedly sent a message threatening to enter Khan’s Mumbai home and plant a bomb in his car.

The Mumbai Police said that they have issued a notice to the man to appear before them within 2-3 days. A case has also been registered against the Gujarat resident under section 351 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and the security has been beefed up outside Khan’s residence in the Bandra area.

Salman Khan death threat: What did the message say?

The threatening message was received on the Mumbai Traffic Police’s WhatsApp helpline on Sunday, April 13. It included threats of physical harm to the Y-Plus-protected actor and that his car would be blown up. The threat came exactly a year after gunshots were fired outside Khan’s Bandra residence.

Following the alert, Mumbai Police swiftly coordinated with their counterparts in Gujarat and visited the suspect’s residence. Upon investigation, it was revealed that the man is mentally unstable, and his family said that he is currently undergoing treatment.

“A team of Mumbai police, accompanied by Waghodia police, reached the suspect’s house at a village in Waghodia on Monday. However, it turned out that the 26-year-old man, who had sent the message, is mentally unstable and his treatment is also going on,” Vadodara district Superintendent of Police Rohan Anand told reporters.

“The Mumbai police served him a notice for appearance and left,” the official added.

Salman Khan on death threats

“Bhagwan, Allah sab unpar hai. Jitni umar likhi hai, utni likhi hai. Bas yahi hai [It’s all up to God, Allah. I’ll die when I have to die. That’s all],” Salman Khan had said during an off-camera press meet for his upcoming movie Sikandar.

The 59-year-old actor has been receiving death threats from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. The threats stem from the 1998 black buck shooting case. The actor is accused of hunting two blackbucks, which the Bishnoi community considers sacred, in a village near Jodhpur, Rajasthan.

According to media reports, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang demanded actor either visit a temple and publicly apologise for the alleged blackbuck poaching case or pay a sum of Rs 5 crore. Later, he was again threatened by an unknown person and was demanded a sum of Rs 2 crore.

In 2024, two unidentified people tried to enter Khan’s Panvel farmhouse using fake IDs. In 2023, a threatening email believed to be from gangster Goldy Brar was also sent to Salman Khan. In 2022, a letter with a threat was found on a bench near his home.
