Amid heightened security in the national capital following the November 10 Red Fort car blast, Delhi Police on Thursday issued a travel advisory urging passengers to reach railway stations, metro stations, and the airport well in advance to avoid delays during mandatory security checks. The blast claimed 12 lives and injured several others, prompting authorities to step up vigilance across the city.
“In view of the heightened security arrangements in the national capital, all passengers are advised to reach the railway stations, metro stations and airport well in advance,” said Joint CP, Delhi Milind Dumbre.
Passengers have been asked to follow specific timelines for smooth travel. Those travelling by train are advised to reach at least one hour before departure, while Delhi Metro commuters should arrive 20 minutes prior to their train’s schedule. International flight passengers are recommended to reach the airport at least three hours ahead of departure. The advisory aims to ensure seamless boarding, minimize last-minute inconveniences, and facilitate efficient security screening.
CCTV Footage and Investigation Updates
Authorities continue to tighten the net around the prime accused, Dr Umar Un Nabi, following the emergence of fresh CCTV footage showing him entering Delhi via the Badarpur border in a Hyundai i20. In the video, Umar is seen stopping at the toll plaza, withdrawing cash, and handing it over to the collector.
Security agencies have also recovered diaries belonging to Dr Umar and Dr Muzammil, detailing plans from November 8 to 12, indicating premeditation. The diaries reportedly include the names of around 25 individuals, mainly from Jammu and Kashmir and Faridabad, who may have been involved in planning the incident.
Authorities have appealed for public cooperation to ensure safety and smooth travel during this period of intensified vigilance, while investigations into the blast continue at full pace.
