Delhi government offices will remain closed for half day on January 22, on the occasion of the ‘pran prathistha’ (consecration) ceremony in Ayodhya, reports PTI.

A Raj Niwas official said that Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena has approved a half-day holiday for all Delhi government offices, civic bodies and other undertakings on January 22.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has issued an order for the closure of government offices till 2.30 pm on January 22, according to an officer.

The consecration ceremony of the Ram Lalla idol in Ayodhya will see the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and several other dignitaries.

Several people from India and across the world will be a part of the consecration ceremony in Ayodhya. Invitations have been sent to cricketing icon Sachin Tendulkar, chess grandmaster Viswanathan Anand, sprint queen PT Usha, footballer Bhaichung Bhutia, industrialists, including billionaire Mukesh Ambani and his family, Ratan Tata, Gautam Adani, have also been invited.

ISRO chairperson S Somnath, DMRC principal advisor E Sreedharan, and NITI member V K Saraswat are also on the list.
