A toddler died after falling from a second-floor window of a hotel in Rajasthan’s Ajmer, police said Monday.
The incident took place at Galaxy Palace in Diggi Bazaar on Sunday, where Hansmukh Bhai and his wife Afreen, visiting from Surat in Gujarat on a pilgrimage to the Ajmer Sharif dargah, were staying at the hotel with their four children, including one-and-a-half-year-old Kartik, said Clock Tower SHO Dinesh Chaudhary.

According to Chaudhary, Kartik was playing near an open window without any protective iron mesh or grille in the afternoon when he fell. The family rushed him to JLN Hospital, where he was placed on ventilator support. However, he died the next morning, police said.
The family chose not to file a formal complaint, Chaudhary added.
