The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued summonses to Abhilash and Avinash Dotasra, the sons of Rajasthan Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra over their alleged involvement in the alleged exam paper leak case and asked them to appear before it next week.

The ED had previously carried out raids on October 26, targeting properties associated with Dotasra and his two sons. This action provoked a strong reaction from the Congress party, with Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot comparing the ED’s activities to a “locust swarm that comes from Pakistan and eats our crop. And ED will finish their (BJP) crop. They are using ED like a tiddi dal,” The Indian Express reported.

In addition to Dotasra, the Enforcement Directorate also conducted raids on properties connected to Independent MLA Om Prakash Hudla, who is being fielded by the Congress party in the upcoming Rajasthan Assembly elections scheduled to take place on November 25.

Though the ED has not released an official statement regarding these actions, the raids on Dotasra and Hudla are linked to the 2021 Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers (REET) paper leaks.

Subsequent to the raids, Govind Singh Dotasra stated that ED officials had not interrogated him or taken his statement. Moreover, they did not seize any money or uncover any illicit documents during their operation. The only items confiscated were the mobile phones of Dotasra and his sons, along with an email stored on a pen drive.

Dotasra explained that the ED arrived to search his residence in connection with the paper leak case but presented a search warrant in the name of his son, Avinash Dotasra, who serves as an Accounts Officer. In addition to searching Dotasra’s residences in Jaipur and Sikar, as well as his political office, the ED also extended their search to the homes of his two sons, who reside in the same premises, as reported by The Indian Express.

He said that allegations connecting him and his family to Kalam Academy, a coaching institute previously raided by the ED in connection with the paper leaks, were baseless. He stressed that neither he nor his sons, nor any other family members or relatives, had any affiliation with the institute. The ED failed to uncover any incriminating documents or evidence supporting these claims.

The ED had conducted a raid on Kalam Academy’s Sikar branch in August.

Describing the raids as an unofficial state of emergency, Dotasra asserted that the primary aim was to divert attention away from the elections. He believed that these actions were intended to create an atmosphere of fear among party workers and family members, thereby disrupting the electoral process.

In addition to the REET case, the ED has carried out several raids in connection with the Senior Teacher Grade II Paper Leak Case, resulting in the apprehension of multiple individuals and the seizure of cash and documents.
