A 17-year-old has been detained by police in Maharashtra’s Pune district for allegedly hitting a woman with the car he was driving, an official said.
The incident took place in Vadgaon Ghenand village near Alandi town in Pune district. Fortunately, the woman escaped unharmed.
The Alandi police filed a case against the teenager after a video of the incident went viral on social media on Sunday. Najuka Ranjit Thorat filed the complaint following the incident, which happened on Saturday. The complaint gained widespread attention after the video circulated on social media platforms.
According to officials from the Alandi police, the complaint alleges that the minor, fueled by anger from a previous altercation with Thorat, deliberately used his car in an attempt to harm her.

Despite the frightening events, Thorat managed to avoid the approaching vehicle. She immediately informed the Alandi police, leading to an investigation.
Authorities identified the juvenile involved and filed an FIR under IPC sections 307 and 504, along with relevant Motor Vehicle Act provisions. The Juvenile Justice Board has placed the juvenile in an observation home.
This incident follows closely after the infamous Pune Porsche car crash, where a car reportedly driven by a 17-year-old boy collided with a motorbike in Pune’s Kalyani Nagar, resulting in the deaths of two IT professionals earlier in May.
