Pune Police on Thursday filed additional charges against the 17-year-old juvenile involved in the fatal Kalyani Nagar Porsche car crash that occurred in May.

The new charges include destruction of evidence and forgery, as well as offences under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

“A supplementary final report has been filed before the JJB, incorporating charges under Indian Penal Code sections 201 (causing disappearance of evidence), 213 (taking gift to screen an offender), 214 (offering gift or restoration of property in consideration of screening an offender), 466, 467, 468, 471 (all offences related to forgery),” said a crime branch official.

The juvenile is accused of driving the Porsche while under the influence of alcohol, leading to a tragic collision with a motorbike that resulted in the deaths of two young IT professionals. The incident took place in the early hours of May 19.

Moreover, the Prevention of Corruption Act has been invoked, as the juvenile allegedly colluded with his parents, doctors from the government-run Sassoon Hospital, and several middlemen to swap his blood samples. This manipulation was purportedly aimed at concealing the juvenile’s blood alcohol level at the time of the crash.

The supplementary report also includes technical data regarding the car’s speed during the incident and witness statements to support the newly added charges.

Although the juvenile was released from the observation home following a High Court order, his parents, along with seven others—including two doctors from Sassoon General Hospital and two middlemen—remain in judicial custody.
