Prashant Kishor Jan Suraaj Election Result 2025: The Jan Suraaj Party contested its maiden elections this month — with more than 200 candidates in the fray. The party formed by poll strategist Prashant Kishor had initially announced plans to contest all 243 seats in the Bihar Assembly. The number had dipped slightly after the Jan Suraaj faced defections, ‘forced’ withdrawals and other setbacks during the nomination process.
Early trends showed the party leading in merely three seats — a distant third to the ruling NDA and Opposition Mahagathbandhan. Data collated by CNN News18 indicated a lead for JSP in two out of 238 seats while ABP News showed that the party was ahead in three seats.
Data on the Election Commission website painted a slightly different picture — suggesting that two JSP candidates were now trailing the winning candidates. It remained slightly unclear whether this information reflected the latest trends and numbers. Jan Suraaj candidate Naveen Kumar Singh Alias Abhay Singh is trailing RJD nominee Jitendra Kumar Rai in Marhaura. Fellow party leader Ajay Kumar Jha was trailing Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) candidate Rajesh Kumar alias Bablu Gupta in Sugauli.
What did the exit polls say?
Most exit polls had also predicted a similar fate for the Jan Suraaj Party — estimating that it would secure up to five seats. Meanwhile Kishor remained vehement that the people of Bihar would not “restrict” themselves to religion and caste and vote to lay solid foundations for a “good society”.
