Prime Minister Narendra Modi has emerged as the most popular global leader with the highest approval rating globally, according to a survey. The latest “Global Leader Approval” survey released by US-based firm Morning Consult, which puts out weekly approval ratings of elected leaders, said 76 per cent of people approved Modi’s leadership while 18 per cent disapproved.
PM Modi has constantly topped the survey, with his approval ratings at around 70 per cent.
Modi is followed by Switzerland’s President Alain Berset who has approval rating of 64 per cent, and disapproval ratnig of 26 per cent. US President Joe Biden is seventh on the list with an approval rating of 40 per cent.
Among the top 10 leaders on the list, Canada’s president Justin Trudeau has the highest disapproval rating at 58 per cent and his approval rating stood at 37 per cent.
Meanwhile, South Korean President Yoon Seok-youl and Czech Republic President Petr Pavel have the lowest approval ratings among the leaders at just 20 per cent.
The data is collected from September 6-12 and is based on a survey of 22 global leaders. The survey comes in the backdrop of the recently concluded G20 Summit, which was hosted by India, and took place in the national capital Delhi from September 9-10. The Summit saw the presence of several world leaders, including Biden, Trudeau, among others.
