Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for a pivotal meeting at Hyderabad House in Delhi on Monday. The discussions between the two leaders are set to encompass a wide range of bilateral issues, further cementing the growing strategic relationship between India and the UAE.

Accompanied by Union Ministers Hardeep Singh Puri and Piyush Goyal, as well as National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, PM Modi greeted Sheikh Khaled with a warm embrace, signaling the close friendship between the two nations. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) confirmed that the meeting will cover the “entire spectrum” of India-UAE ties, including potential future areas of cooperation.

On social media platform X, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal shared the news, stating, “A warm welcome for a close friend. PM @narendramodi received HH Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, at Hyderabad House. Discussions on the entire spectrum of India-UAE bilateral relations and future areas of cooperation lie ahead.”

This visit marks Sheikh Khaled’s first official trip to India, where he was received with a ceremonial welcome by Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal upon arrival. During his stay, the Crown Prince is set to call on President Droupadi Murmu and pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat. On September 10, he will head to Mumbai to attend a Business Forum aimed at fostering economic collaborations between business leaders from both nations.

India and the UAE share a historically deep relationship, one that has grown significantly in recent years. The Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two nations now spans key sectors such as trade, investment, connectivity, energy, technology, education, and culture.

Earlier this year, in February, PM Modi visited the UAE, meeting with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. During that visit, eight key agreements were signed, and discussions on the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEEC) were advanced.

Sheikh Khaled’s current visit is expected to further enhance the close ties and explore new opportunities for collaboration in emerging sectors, underscoring the importance of this enduring partnership.
