Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday departed for a significant three-nation tour from June 15 to 19, 2025, covering Cyprus, Canada, and Croatia. The visit aims to deepen India’s diplomatic, economic, and strategic engagements with key global partners and to articulate India’s perspective on pressing international issues.

“Over the next few days, will be visiting Cyprus, Canada and Croatia to attend various programmes, including bilateral meetings and multilateral engagements,” read PM Modi’s post on X.

Cyprus (June 15–16)

PM Modi’s first stop is Cyprus, where he will be on a two-day official visit at the invitation of President Nikos Christodoulides. This marks the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the Mediterranean island nation in over two decades.

During his stay in Nicosia, PM Modi will hold talks with the Cypriot leadership and address business leaders in Limassol. The visit is expected to advance cooperation in trade, technology, investment, and security, while reinforcing India’s outreach to the European Union and the Mediterranean region.

In his departure statement, the Prime Minister described Cyprus as “a close friend and important partner” and said the visit offers an opportunity to “build upon our historical ties and promote people-to-people exchanges.”
