Parliament Monsoon Session 2025 Day 7 Operation Sindoor Live Updates: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday asserted in the Lok Sabha that no foreign leader asked India to stop Operation Sindoor, India’s military response following the Pahalgam terror attack. While the world backed India, Modi expressed regret that the Congress and its allies failed to stand behind the bravery of Indian soldiers.
Modi said, “No country in the world stopped India from acting in self-defence against terrorism.” His remarks came amid Opposition questions over US President Donald Trump’s claim of announcing a ceasefire between India and Pakistan.
Modi recounted a tense moment on May 9, saying US Vice President JD Vance tried to reach him multiple times. “I was in meetings with our armed forces and couldn’t take the call immediately,” he said. Upon returning the call, Vance warned of a possible Pakistani strike.
“I told him clearly – if Pakistan attacks India, our response will be far stronger. We won’t answer bullets with words—we’ll respond with cannons,” Modi declared.
Pahalgam terrorists neutralised: HM Amit Shah
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday informed the Lok Sabha that three terrorists involved in the April 22 Pahalgam massacre have been eliminated in a joint operation near Srinagar. Participating in the special discussion on Operation Sindoor, Shah said the terrorists were killed under Operation Mahadev on Monday.
The terrorists have been identified as Suleman alias Faizal, Afghani, and Jibran — all affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba. Suleman and Afghani were A-category terrorists, while Jibran was also a notorious operative. Shah said their identities were confirmed by individuals detained earlier for aiding the terrorists with shelter and food. These detainees identified the bodies once they were brought to Srinagar. Shah asserted that justice had been delivered for the Baisaran Valley attack that killed several civilians.
The elimination, he said, was a result of coordinated action by the Army, CRPF, and Jammu and Kashmir Police.
The government on Monday declared its firm resolve to eliminate terrorism, stating that Operation Sindoor, launched to strike terror camps in Pakistan, has been paused after meeting its objectives. However, it warned the operation could resume if Pakistan attempts any misadventure.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, opening the debate on the operation in the Lok Sabha, stated that India, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has adopted a decisive approach toward national security.
Congress in Lok Sabha
Amid Congress leader Rahul Gandhi‘s claims of not being allowed to speak in the Parliament and the Opposition demanding a debate over Op Sindoor, the debate is expected to bring commotion amid a series of questions. It will also be interesting to see if Congress allows Shashi Tharoor to speak. He has been at odds with his own party after praising the Modi government’s handling of the situation and leading a delegation to the US and other countries.
One of the key questions that the Opposition wants answers to is for the Centre to counter US President Donald Trump’s claims of helping India and Pakistan with “ceasefire” in exchange of trade deals. Home Minister Amit Shah, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar are also expected to speak from the government’s side.

Opposition leaders have posed tough questions on Operation Sindoor during Parliament debates, following the deadly Pahalgam terror attack. They raised questions as to why the perpetrators of the Pahalgam attack have not been caught despite India’s military response.
Alleging intelligence failures, they claimed the government failed to anticipate the April 22 attack.
Critics, including Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, questioned India’s global support, citing Donald Trump’s mediation claims.
They also sought clarity on whether the strikes dismantled terror infrastructure or improved border security.
The opposition also asked why Pakistan is still not isolated globally.

She praised the unity of Indians in rejecting polarisation efforts and highlighted key actions taken—suspending the Indus Water Treaty, banning Pakistani media and influencers, and halting bilateral trade and cricket ties.
While lauding diplomatic efforts, she expressed concern that the main perpetrators remain at large and warned against any move to normalise relations with Pakistan. “We sent multiparty delegations out in the world, but those four terrorists are still at large. We haven’t found them yet. Most importantly, they are trying to normalise the relationship. If India and Pakistan play a cricket match against each other anywhere in the world, it will be against the interests of the country,” the MP added.
