India will not bow down to any nuclear threat, says Rajnath.

“India will not sign any joint statement. We did not sign the SCO document, as it did not address our concern.”

Rajnath Singh thanked the Opposition delegation on Operation Sindoor.

“Pakistan uses terrorism as part of its state policy. We are capable of cutting any hand that bleeds India. India will not tolerate any terror attacks sponsored by Pakistan. Enough is enough. We have picked up Sudarshan Chankra,” says Rajnath in Lok Sabha.

“Pakistan acts as a nursery for global terrorism. No talks with a country that speaks the language of terror. Pakistan depends on others for existence. The Pakistani government arranges state funerals for terrorists, and even army officials participate in these ceremonies,” says Rajnath Singh in Lok Sabha.

“Earlier, Pakistan used to threaten nuclear attacks. But during Operation Sindoor, India exposed Pakistan’s double standards and called out its nuclear bluffs,” he adds.

In response to the Opposition’s question as to how many jets were lost in Operation Sindoor, Rajnath says, “Operation Sindoor was successful. No one was killed in the operation. There was no external pressure (Donald Trump) to end the operation.”

Opposition asking how many of our aircraft were shot down, never asked how many enemy aircraft came down, says Rajnath Singh in LS.

He adds, “Operation Sindoor strikes were stopped as India’s objectives were met. No casualties in Indian forces. The opposition is not asking the right questions on Operation Sindoor. In an exam results matter, here we topped it. It doesn’t matter if the pencil breaks if we clear the exam.”

In response to Opposition questions, Rajnath says “If you want to ask a question, then ask this: The terrorists who wiped off the sindoor (vermilion) of our sisters and daughters—did our armed forces, through Operation Sindoor, eliminate the masterminds of those terrorists? The answer is yes.”

“Capturing territory was not an objective of Operation Sindoor. Operation will resume if Pak indulges in any misadventure. Pak claimed defeat after its airbases were attacked on May 10,” says Rajnath.

Our response through Operation Sindoor was precise. We attacked major air bases in Pakistan. Not even a dent in any of our assets in the Pakistan attacks. Air defense systems like S-400 and Akash Missiles proved highly effective, says Rajnath.

“Pakistan couldn’t hit a single target in India. Like Hanuman ji in Ramayana, we only hit those who targeted us. We launched effective counterstrikes in Pakistan. Our attack was in self-defense, not provocative. Operation Sindoor showed that India has zero tolerance towards terrorism,” says Rajnath Singh.

“Civilians in Pahalgam were killed simply for being asked their religion. In response, Prime Minister Modi gave full freedom to the armed forces,” said Rajnath Singh.

“We had several options before us, but we deliberately chose the one that ensured no harm came to Pakistani civilians. Our focus was solely on terrorist infrastructure. With precision, we struck nine terror targets, eliminating over 100 terrorists belonging to LeT and Hizbul. Our air defense and counter-drone system did commendable jobs and left Pakistan helpless. Entire operation completed in 22 minutes.”

Over 100 terrorists and their handlers were killed in Operation Sindoor.

The Operation Sindoor debate begins in the Parliament.

Congress MP KC Venugopal says, “We have already agreed for a discussion (on Operation Sindoor) in this regular session. The point is that SIR is one of the most important issues. We requested the government to hold a discussion on SIR after discussing Operation Sindoor. We need permission of 30 seconds to raise and register that issue. If the government can tell its opinion on this, we are ready for discussion on Operation Sindoor. We even met the Speaker on this. I have a feeling the govt didn’t want a discussion at all.”

Speaking on the adjournment of the Parliament, BJP MP Sambit Patra said, “It is unfortunate. The entire nation is sitting in front of the television, expecting a discussion on Operation Sindoor… The Opposition is creating a ruckus and tearing papers in the well. The nation is watching as the Opposition is not letting the discussion take place. This looks preplanned… They demanded a discussion, but they didn’t let the discussion take place. The Opposition is not standing with Operation Sindoor and the bravery of our army. P Chidambaram is giving a clean chit to Pakistan. It is not he who is speaking; it is the voice of the Gandhi family and the Congress. Chidambaram is only articulating it…”

Union Minister Piyush Goyal criticised the Opposition for repeatedly disrupting Parliament, accusing them of avoiding a discussion on the success of Operation Sindoor.

“Congress and its allies are shying away from celebrating our armed forces’ bravery. Their behaviour is condemnable and reflects a negative mindset,” Goyal said.

He lamented Rahul Gandhi’s absence from the House and accused the Opposition of being disorganised and disrespectful to the sentiments of the nation.

“This attitude shows they are not standing with the country. The people of India will never forgive them,” he said, calling it unfortunate that political interests were placed above national pride.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla urges Opposition MPs to let the discussion on Operation Sindoor get underway. As Opposition MPs continue to raise their demands in the House, the Speaker adjourns the House till 12 PM.

He says. “I request you (Opposition MPs) to let the discussion on Operation Sindoor take place in the House.”

Lok Sabha again adjourned till 2 PM as the Opposition continues the ruckus inside Parliament over SIR.

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju criticised the Congress and Opposition parties after the Lok Sabha was adjourned before the Operation Sindoor debate could begin.

“Why are the Congress and Opposition now running away from discussion on Operation Sindoor?” he asked. Rijiju claimed the government was fully prepared, but just 10 minutes before the debate was to start, the Opposition demanded a written commitment that the SIR issue would be discussed next.

“To bring in a condition just 10 minutes before the discussion is not right,” he added, accusing the Opposition of using procedural tactics to avoid debating the military operation.

“If I speak it will be inside (the House)…I am aware of that (adjournment of Lok Sabha)..My opportunity is inside,” says Congress MP & LoP Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi after Lok Sabha adjourned till 1300 hours before commencement of discussion on Operation Sindoor.

Lok Sabha adjourned till 1 PM.

Rajya Sabha adjourned till 2 PM amid ruckus.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla is likely to invite Shashi Tharoor to speak in the Parliament from the Opposition’s side.

EAM Jaishankar to speak in Lok Sabha at 7.30 PM today. The Parliament will debate Operation Sindoor.

Out of the 16 hours allocated for the discussion on Operation Sindoor in the Rajya Sabha, the Congress has been allotted approximately two hours. Leader of the Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge is scheduled to open the debate on behalf of the party.

In a strongly worded post on X, TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee lashed out at the decision to proceed with an India-Pakistan cricket match in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor.

“India must not engage with Pakistan in any sphere. The only engagement should be on the battlefield,” Banerjee declared, asserting that PoJK should be the only prize India pursues.

Condemning calls to keep politics out of sports, he wrote, “There is no cricket pitch wise enough to wash off the blood of our martyrs.” Banerjee emphasised that India’s Tricolour flies high not because of cricket, but because of the sacrifices of soldiers.

“Extending a handshake to a nation that fires bullets across our borders is not diplomacy—it’s a bloody betrayal,” he said, urging justice for Pahalgam victims over entertainment. “Anything less is an insult to our martyrs,” he concluded, demanding that the Line of Control be the only ground of contest.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh leaves from his residence for the Parliament. He will address the Lok Sabha at 12 pm today on Operation Sindoor.

Speaking at Gangaikonda Cholapuram on the birth anniversary of Chola emperor Rajendra Chola I, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday that Operation Sindoor had shown the world how India would respond if its sovereignty was attacked.

“There is no safe haven for enemies or terrorists,” Modi declared, adding that the cross-border strikes created a new wave of self-confidence in the nation. The event coincided with the ‘Aadi Thiruvathirai’ festival, honouring the iconic king. Modi noted how locals turned his route into a spontaneous roadshow, echoing national pride over Sindoor.

“The world must now realise India’s strength,” the Prime Minister said.

Both Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha have been adjourned till 12 noon amid a ruckus by opposition parties.

Amid the row over Operation Sindoor, Congress leader P Chidambaram took to X to shut down trolls calling it ‘tools to spread misinformation.’

He wrote, “Trolls are of different kinds and use different tools to spread misinformation. The worst kind is a troll who suppresses the full recorded interview, takes two sentences, mutes some words, and paints the speaker in a black colour!”

Earlier, senior Congress leader P Chidambaram made several critical remarks on Operation Sindoor and the Pahalgam terror attack ahead of the Parliament debate on July 28, 2025. 

He questioned the government’s narrative that the terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack came from Pakistan, stating there is no conclusive evidence that the attackers infiltrated from Pakistan.

He suggested they could be “homegrown terrorists.”

Chidambaram criticised the lack of transparency and information sharing by the government and investigative agencies, asking why the terrorists have neither been identified nor apprehended yet, and why the government is unwilling to disclose what the NIA has done. He accused the government of “hiding losses” during Operation Sindoor

CPI-M MP John Brittas raised serious concerns in Parliament, stating, “The Constitution of India is staring at us.” Highlighting the arrest of two Catholic nuns and four others en route to Agra on charges of conversion, he demanded urgent government intervention. “What is happening in this country? The government needs to intervene as early as possible,” Brittas said.

Reacting to P Chidambaram’s remarks on the Pahalgam attack, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey accused the Congress of becoming a “traitor organisation.”

He alleged that the Congress once intended to “sell the nation away” and criticised Rahul Gandhi for signing an MoU with China’s Communist Party. “They can’t digest PM Modi’s strong leadership,” Dubey said during the Operation Sindoor debate.
