Authorities have demolished the houses of three more active terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora, Pulwama and Shopian districts as part of an ongoing crackdown on the terror network following the Pahalgam attack, officials confirmed on Sunday.
On Saturday night, the house of Adnan Shafi, who joined terrorist ranks last year, was razed in Wandina, Shopian district. Another house belonging to Amir Nazir, an active terrorist, was also demolished in Pulwama district. In Bandipora, security forces destroyed the house of Lashkar-e-Toiba operative Jameel Ahmad Shergojri, who has been involved in terrorism since 2016.
Earlier on Saturday, security forces demolished the homes of four suspected militants in South Kashmir. In Shopian’s Chotipora village, the residence of Shahid Ahmed Kuttey was destroyed, and in Kulgam, the house of militant Zakir was also demolished.

Additionally, Ahsan ul Haq Sheikh’s house in Pulwama’s Muran area was razed; Sheikh, who had traveled to Pakistan in 2018, recently infiltrated the Valley. Security forces also destroyed the home of Farooq Teewda in Kalaroos, Kupwara. Teewda, who crossed into Pakistan in the early 1990s, never returned.
On Thursday night, explosions severely damaged the homes of two militants allegedly involved in the Pahalgam tourist attack. The residences of LeT operatives Adil Hussain Thokar from Bijbehara, Anantnag, and Asif Sheikh from Tral, Pulwama, were targeted. Authorities stated the blasts occurred during a security operation at Sheikh’s home, where explosives were reportedly stored. Sheikh’s family, however, accused the forces of planting the explosives.
Since the Pahalgam attack, a total of nine homes linked to terrorists and their associates have been demolished. The attack on Tuesday in Baisaran, a popular tourist destination in Pahalgam, claimed 26 lives, mostly holidaymakers from other states, escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi vowed that the attackers would be pursued “to the ends of the earth.”
Current police sources indicate that between 16 and 18 local militants remain active in the region, affiliated with various terror groups.
