India Pakistan Tensions Highlights: India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri on Saturday confirmed multiple ceasefire violations by the Pakistani military, declaring that the Indian Army will respond “adequately and appropriately.” Misri condemned the intrusions, holding Pakistan fully responsible and urging it to “understand the gravity of the situation and act immediately to stop the aggression.”
In response, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry on Sunday claimed its forces were “handling the situation with responsibility and restraint,” while accusing India of breaching the ceasefire agreement. The two countries had agreed to halt military operations across land, air, and sea following a ceasefire deal announced by US. President Donald Trump, who said the talks were mediated by the United States. This was later confirmed by Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar.
Despite the agreement, tensions remain high. Drones have reportedly been sighted across Jammu and Kashmir, Gujarat’s Kutch region, Punjab, and Rajasthan. India’s air defence systems have intercepted several unmanned aerial vehicles, while sirens and blackouts have been enforced in several districts, urging residents to stay indoors.
Meanwhile, India has stated that the Indus Waters Treaty remains suspended and that a ban on visas for Pakistani nationals continues. At a joint press briefing by the Ministry of External Affairs and Ministry of Defence, Air Commodore Raghu Nair stressed that while the ceasefire agreement is in place, “India remains prepared to defend its sovereignty at all times.”

Locals stand strong behind Indian forces
A fresh wave of drone attacks launched from Pakistan on Friday night triggered blackouts and sirens across border districts in Rajasthan, leaving residents tense but resolute. The Indian Air Force’s defence systems intercepted and destroyed all incoming drones mid-air, preventing any damage or casualties.
In Jaisalmer’s Pokhran, the first attempt was detected around 9 PM, followed by similar attacks in Barmer and other areas. Local resident Jalam Singh praised the military’s swift response: “The way our forces destroyed the drones mid-air has boosted our confidence.” His family, like many others, adhered to strict blackout guidelines.
Barmer and Jodhpur enforced emergency blackouts, with sirens sounded to alert civilians. Even as fear lingered, the sentiment was one of preparedness and trust in the armed forces. “Unlike 1971, we now receive real-time information and know our forces are capable,” said retired forest ranger Jaithmal Singh.

Five civilians have been killed in latest attacks by Pakistan in the Jammu region of Indian Kashmir.
Diplomatic calls for de-escalation, including by the United States, intensified as the nuclear-armed neighbours ramped up their worst fighting in three decades.

Omar hits out at IMF for new loan to Pakistan
“I’m not sure how the “International Community” thinks the current tension in the subcontinent will be de-escalated when the IMF essentially reimburses Pakistan for all the ordnance it is using to devastate Poonch, Rajouri, Uri, Tangdhar & so many other places,” Omar Abdullah posted on social media.
Government officials, speaking to The Indian Express, revealed that India is giving a “calibrated response” to Pakistan’s attempts to strike military and civilian infrastructure.
India employed long-range precision weaponry, including loitering munitions, to conduct strikes on four Pakistani air defense locations, resulting in the destruction of one such site.
Pakistan attacked 26 locations last night bordering western and northern India. India’s response involved both robust air defence and a carefully planned offensive.
This “calibrated response,” officials explained, encompassed successfully countering Pakistan’s aerial incursions using the Indian Air Force’s Integrated Air Command and Control System (IACCS) and its network of counter-unmanned aerial systems (UAS).
