Intelligence agencies investigating the deadliest attack on civilians on Indian soil since 2008 have indicated the involvement of Pakistan-based terror groups. Initial findings suggest that the four attackers were trained in camps located in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. While Pakistan has denied involvement, calling for a “neutral probe”, evidence continues to mount against it.
Eyewitnesses reported that the terrorists separated tourists based on gender and religion before asking the men to recite the ‘kalma’. Those who failed were executed at point-blank range.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has vowed to deliver justice to the victims’ families, calling the Baisaran massacre a heinous crime. In a swift response, India suspended the Indus Waters Treaty and revoked visas issued to Pakistani nationals under 12 categories.
