Plot owners in Sector 145 of Noida staged a protest on Sunday, expressing frustration with the local authority’s delay in delivering physical possession of their residential plots and developing the sector, despite an eight-year wait since registry.

The protest, organized by the Resident Welfare Association (RWA) of Sector 145, included senior citizens, men, women, and children, all carrying banners and posters of their demands, reported PTI.

Noida Authority officials were unavailable for comment. Latsahab Lohia, president of Sector 145 RWA, expressed frustration over the authority’s lack of transparency and repeated excuses.

“We’re fed up with the Noida Authority’s endless excuses and lack of transparency,” said Latsahab Lohia, president of Sector 145 RWA.

He noted that despite the residents investing their life savings, the authority has failed to hand over the plots and develop the sector, turning their dream of building homes into a nightmare.

The RWA explained that the protest was prompted by the local authority and district administration’s failure to provide a clear timeline for offering physical possession of the plots.

In a statement RWA stated that the delay affects around 2,250 plots, impacting an estimated 15,000 people who have been waiting for the handover since their registries were completed about eight years ago.

The protesters demanded immediate action and urged the authorities to share a concrete timeline for the handover and development of the sector, emphasizing that their patience has worn thin after years of unfulfilled promises.
