All schools from nursery to class 12 in Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida) and Ghaziabad will remain closed tomorrow (September 3) as heavy rain continue to lash Delhi and NCR. The order has been issued by the the district education officer of Gautam Buddha Nagar and Ghaziabad.
The order stated that classes from nursery to class 12 will remain closed on Wednesday due to heavy rain in the region. The Gautam Buddha Nagar order, however, mentioned that school staff would come to schools for administrative work. No teaching work will be done in the schools in these two districts on Sept 3.

Rain chaos in Delhi-NCR
Since Monday, the national capital region has been seeing intermittent rain for hours leading to waterlogging and traffic congestion in many areas in the city. Yamuna river on Tuesday breached the danger mark, and water from the river entered the houses nearby forcing people to ponder if they will have to leave the houses again like the last time.
One of the resident, mother of two, said, “The other night, a snake slithered over my son as he slept. I could not move until it went away.” Another remembered opening a trunk only to find a snake coiled inside her clothes.

High volumes of water have been released from Wazirabad and Hathnikund barrages, swelling the Yamuna river in Delhi. The river breached the evacuation mark of 206.03 metres at 4 pm on Tuesday at Delhi’s Old Railway Bridge (ORB), for the first time this year.
“For us, it’s a double-edged sword,” a farm labourer said.
“If we stay where we were, there is a constant fear of snakes and other wild animals. But the tents we’ve been given leak throughout the night due to the rain. We are forced to live on the roadside, exposed and vulnerable. Is that even a life?” said another, according to PTI.
Gurugram and Noida witnessed heavy traffic jams on Monday. People shared the visuals of the traffic mess on social media saying how two hours of rain has led to 20-km-long disruption.
Delhi government begins relief efforts
Delhi CM Rekha Gupta said the government is ready to tackle any situation and people of the national capital will not suffer due to rain.
She inspected a relief camp in Geeta Colony on Tuesday and said, “Today, I inspected the relief camp near Geeta Colony Flyover and the Old Iron Bridge.”

“I met with the affected families, listened to their problems, and assured them that the Delhi government is with them at every step. The safety and convenience of citizens is our topmost priority, and every possible assistance is being ensured,” she added.
