After the National Investigation Agency (NIA) gathered evidence regarding the identities of terrorists involved in the Pahalgam terror attack case, J&K CM Omar Abdullah has backed it. He added that the “biggest thing” is that no locals were involved in the attack in the Valley that killed 26 people in April this year.
“The biggest thing is that there was no local involvement. Those who shot bullets and killed 26 people were all from outside,” he told reporters.
He added, “Now, under an investigation by the NIA, two people have been arrested who helped these people. NIA has perhaps also said that these people were forced to help. They provided food and other things, but they were forced to do so. Let the investigation go on. NIA will then file a chargesheet.”

The evidence gathered by NIA includes eyewitness accounts from victims, video footage, technical evidence and sketches released by the Jammu and Kashmir Police. All evidence is being carefully analysed, and no conclusions have been derived as of now. Identities and further details will be made public at an appropriate time.
“The NIA assures that the investigation is being carried out with the highest standards of professionalism, and all aspects of the terror attack are being thoroughly examined. The identities and further details of the terrorists will be made public at an appropriate time,” NIA said in a statement.
On June 23, a Jammu court had granted NIA a five-day remand of the two accused in connection with the attack. The two have been identified as Parvaiz Ahmad and Bashir Ahmed. Furthermore, the date for the next hearing is set for June 27.
