The India Meteorological Department (IMD) in its latest weather bulletin has stated that due to the impact of the depression, widespread rainfall with isolated heavy showers is expected over eastern and northwest India in the coming days.
IMD issues heavy rainfall orange alerts for these states
The Weather Department has issued heavy rainfall orange alerts for Uttarakhand, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, and Nagaland.
Moderate to heavy rainfall predicted for Northwest India
Moderate rainfall, along with lightning and thunderstorms, is forecasted throughout the week in Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir, and Himachal Pradesh. Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh are likely to experience widespread rainfall during the same period. West Rajasthan is expected to receive extremely heavy downpours on August 6, and Uttarakhand will experience heavy rain on August 6, 7, and 9. Isolated heavy rain is expected over Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and East Uttar Pradesh starting from August 6 and continuing until August 11. Chandigarh and Haryana will receive heavy rain from August 6 to August 8, while Jammu & Kashmir will experience it on August 6, 7, 10, and 11. West Uttar Pradesh and Punjab will also see similar weather conditions on August 6 and 7.
Heavy rainfall warning for Western and Central India
The Met Department has warned of heavy rainfall over isolated places in Madhya Maharashtra, West Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat from August 6 to August 9. Chhattisgarh will receive heavy rain from August 6 to August 7, while East Madhya Pradesh might experience it on August 7 and 8. Goa and Konkan are expected to see heavy rain from August 6 to August 10.
Weather forecast for Northeastern, Eastern, and Southern India
The northeastern regions, including Nagaland, Mizoram, Tripura, Assam, Manipur, and Meghalaya, are anticipated to experience significant rainfall from August 6 to August 10. Odisha will receive heavy rain on August 7, Sikkim and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal on August 6. Bihar is expected to have isolated heavy rainfall from August 6 to August 8. Gangetic West Bengal will see rain on August 6, while Jharkhand will experience it on August 6 and 7. Tamil Nadu is likely to have heavy precipitation on August 6.
