Mizoram Election 2023: The Mizoram legislative assembly elections were held on November 7 to elect 40 members. The tenure of the current Mizoram assembly expires on December 17. The term of the legislative assembly in this northeastern state is five years. According to ECI, the counting of votes will take place on December 4.

Mizoram exit poll results
Most exit polls are indicating the triumph of regional players in the upcoming Mizoram Assembly elections. The exit polls suggest that national parties, including the Congress and the BJP, are poised to face electoral setbacks.
According to the India TV-CNX exit poll, the Mizo National Front (MNF) is anticipated to secure between 14 and 18 seats, while the Congress is projected to win 8-10 seats. The BJP is expected to clinch 0-2 seats, with others predicted to secure 12-16 seats.
Achieving the majority mark of 21 in the 40-member assembly seems likely for the MNF. In the Jan ki Baat exit polls, the MNF is forecasted to secure 10-14 seats, the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) is expected to win 15-25 seats, the BJP may secure 0-2 seats, and the Congress is anticipated to win 5-9 seats.
