Delhi MCD Election Results 2025 Live Updates Counting ward-wise: Delhi CM Rekha Gupta has passed her first first litmus test as the BJP dominated the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) by-elections results with victory in 7 wards. These wards include Shalimar Bagh, Ashok Vihar, Chandni Chowk, Dwarka, Dichaon Kalan, Greater kailash, and Vinod Nagar. All India Forward Bloc candidate Mohd Imran has bagged Chandani Mahal, the ward which recorded the highest voter turnout. AAP on the other hand managed to bag 3 wards including Naraina, Dakshinpuri, and Mundka.
Why was the polling held in just 12 wards?
The polling was held across 12 wards on Nov 30, with the recorded voter turnout of 38.51%. It was held due to the 12 vacancies that were created because 11 councillors were later elected to the Delhi Assembly and one to the Parliament. These vacancies include one of Rekha herself from Shalimar Bagh-B ward. Out of the 12 wards, Chandni Mahal saw the highest turnout at 55.93%, while Greater Kailash recorded the lowest at 26.76%.
What is the highest winning margin?
The biggest winning margin is 10,101 votes in Shalimar Bagh-B, where BJP’s Anita Jain won. The ward was formerly represented by Rekha Gupta herself. The smallest winning margin is just 148 votes in Naraina, where AAP’s Rajan Arora emerged victorious.

MCD Bypoll Results 2025 Live: Congress’ winning candidate from Sangam Vihar attributes victory to people
Congress leader Suresh Choudhary has won the MCD bypolls from Ward No. 163-Sangam Vihar. He attributed his victory to the people of Sangam Vihar, stating that while many BJP leaders, including the Chief Minister, visited the area, they failed to ask for votes based on their work, which ultimately did not help them.
BJP’s Sumar Kumar Gupta who won the MCD bypoll from Chandni Chowk said that he would be working to resolve the issues concerning sewer, traffic jams, electricity and water. “The CM had promised to give Rs 100 crore fund for Chandni Chowk, and we will use this fund properly for the development of the area, and restore Chandni Chowk’s pride,” he said.

Aam Aadmi Party’s Ram Swaroop Kanojia has won from Ward No. 164 of Dakshinpuri in MCD bypoll. The BJP won 7 seats and AAP bagged 3.
He credited his victory to party chief Arvind Kejriwal. “I give credit for this win to Arvind Kejriwal, MLA Prem Chauhan and the public. I am very happy that we have won. I received a lot of love and respect here. Many BJP leaders came here for campaigning, but we continued working and secured a win. I will serve the public in my ward,” he said.

BJP candidate Manisha Devi has won from Dwarka with 13408 votes. She defeated AAP’s Raj Bala with a margin of 9100 votes.

MCD Bypoll Results 2025 Live: Chandni Mahal sees highest voter turnout
Among the 12 wards where voting took place, Chandni Mahal reported the highest turnout at 41.95 per cent. It was followed by Sangam Vihar-A with 38.62 per cent and Mundka with 37.82 per cent voter participation. On the lower end, Greater Kailash recorded the lowest turnout at just 20.87 per cent, while Dwarka-B saw 23.72 per cent polling. Other major wards recorded moderate participation, with Chandni Chowk at 27.91 per cent, Ashok Vihar at 28.13 per cent and Shalimar Bagh-B at 28.28 per cent.
