At least three Border Security Force (BSF) jawans lost their lives, and 13 others were injured when the truck they were traveling in plunged into a gorge in Changoubung village, located in Senapati district, Manipur, officials confirmed.

Two of the BSF personnel died instantly at the scene, while another succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital. The bodies of the deceased have been transported to the district hospital in Senapati for further formalities, the official added.

The condition of several injured BSF jawans is reported to be serious, and they are currently receiving medical attention.

Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla has expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy. In a statement, the Raj Bhavan conveyed, “Manipur Governor, Shri Ajay Kumar Bhalla, has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic accident in Changoubung village, Senapati district, where three BSF personnel lost their lives. He extended his condolences to the bereaved families and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.”
