The man who accused the Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has been arrested by the North West Delhi District of Delhi Police. He was reportedly under the influence of alcohol when he called the Police Control Room (PCR) in Ghaziabad. He was “apprehended by a team of Special Staff” as shared by the Delhi Police after a probe was launched investigating the matter.

He has identified as Shlok Tiwari, a 25-year-old man who was apprehended for allegedly giving a death threat to Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, police said. A police source said the accused is a fraudster and frequently changes his identity. He was arrested by the Delhi Police and is being interrogated in the office of the force’s Special Cell in northwest Delhi, an official said.

Officials from Ghaziabad were prompt in informing the Delhi Police and shared that, “On the intervening night of 5th and 6th June, a call was received in the Kotwali Police Station of Ghaziabad Police Commissionerate. The caller said that Delhi CM Rekha Gupta will be killed. We immediately informed the Delhi Police Control Room. We have not been able to contact the caller since then. We are trying to trace the caller using his number. Soon we will catch the caller, and further legal action will be taken.”

The Ghaziabad police alerted their Delhi counterparts and also dispatched a team to Panchwati Colony, from where the call was reportedly made, the caller managed to evade getting caught, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Ghaziabad, Ritesh Tripathi said.
