A member of the Maratha community on Monday sneaked into a government guest house in Pune, where Maharashtra minister Chhagan Bhujbal was residing, to raise slogans near the minister’s car and warn against opposing Maratha quota stir.
The activist, identified as Dhananjay Jadhav of the Swarajya Sangathana, urged Bhujbal not to oppose the Maratha community’s ongoing agitation for reservation.

The police later intervened, arresting Jadhav, PTI reported.
“We are requesting Bhujbal and if he does not stop his opposition to the Maratha community’s agitation for quota which is led by Manoj Jarange Patil, we will make his movement in the state difficult. I reiterated this by going near his car,” Jadhav told the reporters.

Bhujbal, an OBC leader, has been vocal about his stance that while providing reservation to the Marathas, the existing quota for Other Backward Classes (OBCs) should not be diminished. He has also criticised Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange for certain statements made in the recent past.
Bhujbal’s supporters present at the scene objected to Jadhav’s entry into the area.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Zone II, Smartana Patil, confirmed the incident and told PTI that the individual had raised slogans near Bhujbal’s car at the Circuit House in the Bund Garden area.
