Two people were arrested by the Mumbai Police this week after making separate attempts to break into the home of actor Salman Khan. The actor was granted Y+ security in in October last year amid threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and attacks against his residence.
According to reports, two FIRs were registered at the Bandra police station in connection with the incidents that took place on Tuesday and Wednesday. Officials said a 23-year-old man from Chhattisgarh was first spotted loitering around the actor’s house in the morning — prompting a policeman deployed for his security asking him to leave. The man — identified as Jitendra Kumar Singh — had subsequently flown into a fit of rage and smashed his mobile phone on the ground.
Later that evening he had made a second attempt to meet the actor — entering the Galaxy Apartments in a car belonging to another person living in the same building. He was however stopped by the police yet again and later handed over to the Bandra Police. He told the police during interrogation that he had ‘wanted to meet the actor’. Singh claimed that he tried to sneak in as the police were not allowing him to enter the building.
A separate incident took place on Wednesday — with a woman entering the building and even managing to reach Khan’s flat. She is currently being interrogated, and authorities are verifying her identity and place of origin. It is not yet confirmed whether she is a local resident or has travelled from another city.
