A man has been apprehended for allegedly raping his 16-year-old daughter multiple times in Saharanpur district, Uttar Pradesh, reported PTI.
According to Superintendent of Police (Rural) Sagar Jain, the incident came to light on Thursday when the victim approached the police station and detailed the harrowing ordeal she had endured. The girl revealed that her mother passed away a decade ago, leaving her vulnerable to her father’s abuse.
Jain further stated that the victim had previously confided in her family members about the sexual assault, but the Panchayat’s intervention had failed to deter the accused. Undeterred, the father continued to perpetrate the heinous acts, often resorting to physical violence to silence his daughter.
Following the complaint, an FIR was lodged against the accused, and the victim was sent for a medical examination. The police promptly arrested the perpetrator, and further investigations are currently underway.
