The Enforcement Directorate has summoned Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader and former Lok Sabha MP Mahua Moitra for questioning on February 19 in a Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) contravention case, PTI reported, citing official sources.

She has been asked to depose at the ED’s office in Delhi and her statement will be recorded under FEMA.

Moitra was expelled from the Lok Sabha on December 8 after BJP MP Nishikant Dubey and her reported estranged partner Anant Dehadrai accused her of taking bribes from a businessman to ask questions in Parliament.

The Ethics Committee found her guilty of “unethical conduct” and contempt of the Lok Sabha for sharing her login user ID and password of the Parliament website with “unauthorised persons”.

Following her expulsion, she has moved the Supreme Court.
