The Delhi government fulfilled one of its key poll promises on International Women’s Day after the cabinet made a significant policy move by approving the Mahila Samridhi Yojana. The scheme, which was a major highlight of the party’s election campaign, promises financial aid of Rs 2,500 to women aged 21 to 60 who earn up to Rs 3 lakh annually.
In the past, the Opposition AAP has been vocal in its criticism, accusing the saffron party of delaying its implementation despite its pre-election push. The scheme’s launch was initially delayed due to a postponed cabinet meeting on its rules and criteria.
