Rape Case 22-year-old woman in Nalasopara, Maharashtra: A case has been registered against three persons for allegedly raping a 22-year-old in Nalasopara. The case has been filed against Sanju Srivastava, Naveen Singh and Hema Singh, on the basis of victim’s statement, reported ANI. The woman has alleged that three had called her on the pretext of giving money. She said they spiked her drink, raped her and then shot it on camera. All the three accused are absconding as of now, Achole Police said.
In a separate incident, a 16-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped and blackmailed in the same district. The case was filed with the Achole Police Station under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) and other relevant laws, based on the survivor’s complaint.
According to the victim, she met one of the suspects, Anees Shaikh, through social media in August. He invited her to Nalasopara under the pretext of a tuition class, but instead took her to a lodge and assaulted her. Police have arrested Shaikh and are currently searching for the second suspect, Jian.
The victim’s identity has not been disclosed to protect her privacy, in accordance with Supreme Court guidelines for cases involving sexual assault.
