INDIA bloc partners Congress and Aam Aadmi Party are set to discuss the seat-sharing formula on Monday in Amritsar, Punjab, ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
In the morning, Devender Yadav, the Congress in-charge for Punjab, arrived in Amritsar and stated, “Our all leadership is here. We will have a discussion in the meeting and speak only after that,” as ANI reported.
AAP MP Sandeep Pathak highlighted that discussions would not be limited to Delhi but would encompass states where the party holds sway.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Abhishek Dutt echoed the sentiment of unity, expressing confidence in fighting collectively and securing victory. Dutt further expressed confidence in winning all 7 seats in Delhi for the INDIA Alliance, citing discontent among businessmen with the current government’s policies. He stressed the importance of a united approach for success.

Additionally, Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit addressed the potential seat-sharing between AAP and Congress for the Lok Sabha elections, underscoring the urgency to finalise details for joint preparations.
“Our national leadership knows our opinion…Our conflicts with AAP are with respect to the Delhi government…It will be decided later if there will be an alliance, if it happens then who’ll contest which seats? I just hope that if an alliance happens then its details should be decided as soon as possible so that we can also prepare for it,” Dikshit mentioned.
On Sunday, the Congress convened a National Alliance Committee (NAC) meeting in the national capital to discuss seat allocation in Bihar.

The committee, led by convenor Mukul Wasnik and comprising senior leaders like Ashok Gehlot, Salman Khurshid, and others, is focussed on forming alliances ahead of the 2024 general elections.
With the 2024 Lok Sabha elections merely four months away, the allocation of seats assumes pivotal significance for the Congress, particularly in light of recent electoral setbacks.
