Lok Sabha Election 2024 Phase 3 Voting Date and Time: After the conclusion of voting in two phases of the Lok Sabha elections on April 19 and April 26, the stage is all set for the third phase of the 18th Lok Sabha elections, which will take place on May 7. In the third phase, polling will take place across 94 Lok Sabha constituencies covering 10 states and two UTs. Some major states such as Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal will cast their ballots in Phase 3. However, the polling date for the Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha seats in Jammu and Kashmir has been rescheduled due to various logistical, communication, and natural barriers affecting connectivity. The polling has been rescheduled to May 25, with the vote count scheduled for June 4.

Phase 3 voting in Lok Sabha 2024: Date and Time

The third phase of the 18th general Lok Sabha elections is scheduled for May 7. Voting will commence at approximately 7 AM and conclude at 5 PM.

In this phase, a total of 94 constituencies across 10 states and two UTs will go to the polls. The states in phase 3 include Assam (4 seats), Bihar (5), Chhattisgarh (7), Goa (2), Gujarat (26), Karnataka (14), Madhya Pradesh (8), Maharashtra (11), Uttar Pradesh (10), West Bengal (4), Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu (2).

A total of 1,351 candidates from 12 states and UTs are set to contest in phase 3 of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. This includes 8 candidates for the adjourned poll in the 29-Betul (ST) PC of Madhya Pradesh. Additionally, one candidate from Surat parliamentary constituency in Gujarat has been elected unopposed. The deadline for withdrawal of candidature for all 12 states/UTs was April 22, 2024. A total of 2,963 nominations were filed for 95 PCs (including 29-Betul) across 12 states/UTs going for polls in phase 3 of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. The deadline for filing nominations for phase 3 for all 12 states/UTs was April 19, 2024. After scrutiny, 1,563 nominations were found to be valid.

Lok Sabha Election 2024 Phase 1 and 2 – A Recap

Voter turnout in Phase 1 and 2 of the Lok Sabha elections dipped to 66.14 per cent and 66.71 per cent, respectively, according to the Election Commission, making a decrease from the 2019 polls, which saw turnouts of 69.43 per cent and 69.17 per cent in the first and second phases, respectively. Phase 1 covered 102 seats on April 19, while Phase 2 covered 88 seats on April 26. The remaining five phases will occur between May 7 and June 1, with vote counting on June 4.

In the second phase of polling, Karnataka saw a voting turnout of 69.86 per cent for 14 out of 28 seats. Earlier, in the first phase, over 62 percent of voters casting ballots, with West Bengal leading at 81.91percent, followed by Tripura at per cent. Despite ethnic tensions, Manipur recorded a significant turnout of 75.17 per cent. While in second phase, Manipur recorded the highest turnout at 84.85 per cent, followed by Assam at 81.17 per cent and Tripura at 80.36 per cent. Madhya Pradesh had the lowest turnout at 58.59 per cent for six seats, with Bihar following closely at 59.45 per cent for five seats.
