AAP leader Atishi described the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections as more than just a political contest, framing it as a fight between “good and evil.” Expressing confidence in the electorate, she asserted that Delhi’s voters would back AAP and Arvind Kejriwal, securing his fourth consecutive term as Chief Minister. “I have full faith that the people of Kalkaji and all of Delhi will support AAP and Arvind Kejriwal,” she said. When pressed to predict the election outcome, Atishi reaffirmed her belief in a strong victory but declined to specify a margin. “The numbers will be in front of you by the evening,” she stated.
Atishi and Alka Lamba face off in a high-stakes battle for the Kalkaji constituency in the 2025 Delhi elections, with vote counting taking place today. Early leads indicate that both of them are trailing.
Addressing reports that BJP had strategically fielded its strongest contenders against AAP leaders in Kalkaji, Jangpura, and New Delhi constituencies, Atishi acknowledged the challenge but remained optimistic. “If you look at AAP’s history, we started with nothing—no money, no manpower. We don’t do politics based on religion or vote banks, yet the people of Delhi believed in us, and God was with us. I have full faith that it will be the same this time,” she affirmed.
Congress candidate Alka Lamba expressed her unwavering faith in the people of Delhi, stating that regardless of the election results, the Congress party would continue to stand by them until the city’s pressing issues were resolved. “Winning or losing is not the goal—solving Delhi’s problems is. Congress will fight until then,” she asserted.
Taking a sharp dig at Arvind Kejriwal, she called him “the biggest liar,” accusing him of making baseless allegations without proof. “He accused Sheila Dikshit, he accused Haryana of poisoning the Yamuna—where is the proof? His only aim is to distract the public from real issues,” she said.
Lamba also predicted AAP’s downfall, claiming the party’s “first wicket” would fall from the New Delhi constituency. “Whether I win or not is not the issue, but if Arvind Kejriwal is losing, Atishi and Sisodia’s losing is inevitable,” she remarked.
