A private helicopter heading to Kedarnath Dham made an emergency landing in Guptkashi, Rudraprayag district, due to a technical fault, Uttarakhand ADG Law and Order Dr V Murugeshan said on Friday.
The helicopter, operated by Crestel Aviation Private Limited, was flying from Sirsi with passengers when it made a precautionary landing on a road instead of the designated helipad. A video sourced by the local police showed the copter in the middle of a road and its tail smashed into a car’s roof.

According to the CEO of UCADA, all passengers and crew members are safe and there were no casualties reported. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has been notified of the incident. Other helicopter shuttle operations to Kedarnath are continuing normally as per schedule, officials said.
