Actor-turned-politician and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut on Thursday revealed that BJP national president JP Nadda personally asked her to delete a social media post she had made concerning US President Donald Trump’s comments about Apple’s manufacturing plans in India. Ranaut complied with the request and removed the post from all platforms, including Instagram.

In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), Ranaut wrote:
“Respected national president Shri @JPNadda ji called and asked me to delete the tweet I had posted regarding Trump asking Apple CEO Tim Cook not to manufacture in India. I regret posting that very personal opinion of mine. As per instructions, I immediately deleted it from Instagram as well. Thanks.”

What did Kangana Ranaut write in the controversial post?

The now-deleted post by Ranaut speculated on Trump’s motives and drew comparisons between him and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The post read:
“What could be the reason of this love loss.

  1. He is American President but world’s most loved leader is Indian Prime Minister.
  2. Trump’s second term but Indian Prime Minister’s third term.
  3. Undoubtedly Trump is alpha male but our PM is sab alpha male ka baap.
What do you think? This is personal jealousy or diplomatic insecurity?”

Trump’s remarks on India and Apple

Ranaut’s post was a reaction to comments made by President Trump during a business event in Doha, where he reportedly told Apple CEO Tim Cook, “I don’t want you building in India,” while discussing Apple’s global expansion. Trump’s concern centered around India’s high tariffs, which he said made it difficult to sell products in the country.

“You can build in India if you want to take care of India,” Trump said. “India is one of the highest tariff nations in the world.”
