Amid speculations that Congress leader and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath and his son Nakul Nath could defect to the BJP, the former arrived at the Delhi airport on Saturday.

Nakul Nath has also reportedly dropped Congress from his bio on social media handle, adding fuel to the buzz.

The development comes a day after Madhya Pradesh BJP chief VD Sharma allegedly said that some Congress leaders were upset over the party’s decision to decline the invite of the Ram Mandir ceremony.

Earlier this week, in a massive blow to the party, several leaders had switched sides.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Digvijaya Singh dismissed the speculations, saying they are only “sensationsal” news.

“I spoke to Kamal Nath at 10.30 pm yesterday, he is in Chhindwara. A person who started his political journey and stood with the Nehru-Gandhi family when Indira Gandhi was sent to jail, do you think he will ever leave Congress and the Gandhi family?” he said.
