Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet ministers List 2024: As the people of Jammu and Kashmir witnessed the formation of elected government after a decade, Omar Abdullah, alongside five other ministers, were sworn-in to the Cabinet on Wednesday in the presence of J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, who administered the oath of office.
National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah took oath as the Chief Minister of J&K, becoming the first CM after Article 370 was abrogated and the erstwhile state was bifurcated into two union territories – Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

Surinder Choudhary, winning candidate from Nowshera, who defeated J&K BJP chief Ravinder Rana, was sworn-in as the Deputy Chief Minister of J&K. Along with this, four more ministers were sworn-in to the Cabinet on Wednesday. The J&K Cabinet, according to the J&K Reorganization Act, can have upto nine ministers, including the CM.

- Sakina Masood (Itoo) (DH Pora)
- Javed Dar (Rafiabad)
- Javed Ahmed Rana (Mendhar)
- Surinder Choudhary (Nowshera)
- Satish Sharma (Chhamb)
While Itoo and Dar are from the Kashmir valley, Rana, Choudhary and Sharma are from the Jammu region, representing an equal participation from both the provinces in Jammu and Kashmir.
INDIA bloc leaders attended the swearing-in event in full strength putting up a united front. Among those who had gathered at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) were Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Mallikarjun Kharge, Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav, Left leaders Prakash Karat and D Raja, DMK’s Kanimozhi and NCP’s Supriya Sule. PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti also attended the event.
