Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) MLA Sita Soren, the sister-in-law of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, on Tuesday resigned from all posts of the party.
She sent her resignation letter to the party supremo and her father-in-law Shibu Soren on Tuesday, PTI reported.
Sita Soren is a three-time MLA and wife of the former Chief Minister’s elder brother, Durga Soren, who died in 2009 at the age of 39.

Her resignation from the JMM came amid an intense political drama in Jharkhand. In August 2022, Sita Soren raised concerns against the Hemant Soren government in Jharkhand, alleging that it had been ineffective in curbing the “loot of land” in the mineral-rich state.
In January this year, as Hemant Soren faced imminent arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), the JMM in a ‘Plan B’ wanted his wife, Kalpana, to replace him.
But Sita Soren emerged as a contender, further fuelling the Soren family feud.
