The India Meteoritical Department (IMD) has predicted light showers in certain parts of the country. According to IMD, there will be light to moderate rainfall/snowfall along with isolated lightning and thunderstorms in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu Kashmir, Muzaffarabad, Arunachal Pradesh, Gilgit, Baltistan and Uttarakhand.

IMD’S Forecast and Warnings:

A cyclonic circulation is positioned over northeast Rajasthan with an east-west channel spreading towards Gangetic West Bengal covering south Bihar, north Jharkhand, south Uttar Pradesh in lower tropospheric level. Today, a high moisture feeding is expected to occur in Northwest India.

Northwest India is probably to be affected by a fresh disturbance from 18th April and under the influence of this weather conditions a widespread rainfall/snowfall accompanied with lightning, thunderstorms and gusty winds will take place at above Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu Kashmir, Muzaffarabad, Ladakh, Baltistan and Gilgit today.

Haryana, Chandigarh, West Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Punjab and Madhya Pradesh are predicted to have extensive rainfall along with lightning, gusty winds and thunderstorms today.

A very sturdy surface wind is expected to occur over Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Chandigarh and Haryana from tomorrow and will prevail till 17th April. Uttarakhand, Jammu Division and Himachal Pradesh are projected to have isolated hailstorms which started off yesterday and will persist till today.

Snowfall along with rainfall is expected over Himachal Pradesh, Jammu Kashmir, Muzaffararabad, Baltistan, Ladakh and Gilgit on Monday.

Temperature Watch:

No remarkable changes in maximum temperatures are forecasted over Gujarat in the following two days and neither in the rest of India.

There are chances of hot and humid weather conditions over Yanam, coastal Odisha and Coastal Andhra Pradesh in next five days. Similar weather pattern is forecast by IMD for Puducherry, Tamil Nadu and Karaikal from today and will continue till 18th April.
