The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted an active monsoon across large parts of the country between June 25 to June 30. A heavy rainfall is forecast for multiple states for the next seven days. According to the IMD, central, eastern, and northeastern India will experience continuous showers over the coming weeks. Isolated heavy spells are likely to occur in Jharkhand, Bihar, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh from June 25 to June 28, whereas Vidarbha may get intense rains on June 25.
In West Bengal and Sikkim, downpours are expected to occur on June 25, 28, and 29. The southern part of West Bengal is expected to experience heavy showers from June 25 to June 27. The Met Department has also warned of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and strong winds of up to 50 kmph in many of these regions. Heavy rainfall is likely to take place in Odisha and Madhya Pradesh from June 25 to June 26. Jharkhand is expected to get it on June 26, and Bihar will experience it on June 28.
Heavy showers are predicted for Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand, and West Bengal
In northwest India, rainfall activity is predicted to increase significantly from June 25. Uttarakhand might get heavy showers from June 25 to June 27. Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh are also set to witness heavy showers during this week. The weather department has issued an orange alert for Rajasthan. Heavy spells are likely to occur in different places of the Kota division.
In the western part of India, Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, and Konkan are forecast to get intense downpours, whereas Kutch and Saurashtra will receive isolated heavy spells throughout the week.
Southern states, including Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, and Coastal Andhra Pradesh are predicted to have moderate to heavy rains along with thunderstorms in some parts.
Rain is expected in Delhi
The national capital is all set to receive showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday, as per the notification of the IMD. A yellow alert has also been issued for today. Temperatures are likely to stay moderate, with a maximum around 34 degrees Celsius and a minimum is expected to be near 27 degrees Celsius.
