The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued rainfall alerts at many places accompanied with thunderstorms and lightning over several states including Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, south Rajasthan, Goa, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Puducherry. Meanwhile, a Cyclonic Circulation is likely to emerge over South Andaman Sea and neighbourhood on Sunday.

Under its influence, a Low Pressure Area is likely to form over South Andaman Sea and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal around November 27. The met department has advised the fishermen not to venture into South Andaman Sea for the next two days.

A look at weather conditions across several states:-

  • Delhi: The sky will remain partly cloudy in the national capital on Saturday with a shallow fog in the morning. The maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 25 and 9 degrees Celsius respectively. On Friday, the maximum and minimum temperatures have been settled at 28.8 and 9.2 degrees Celsius respectively.
  • West Bengal and Sikkim: Kolkata will experience mainly clear skies today. The maximum and minimum temperatures in the ‘city of joy’ will be around 28 and 19 degrees Celsius respectively. The dry weather is also most likely to prevail over Sikkim and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal.
  • Jammu and Kashmir: The dry weather-like conditions will prevail in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday. The sky will remain clear in Srinagar with the maximum and minimum temperatures around 13 and 0 degrees Celsius respectively.
  • Himachal Pradesh: Shimla, the state capital, will experience sunny weather today. The maximum and minimum would be around 18 and 8 degrees Celsius respectively. The dry weather will prevail in the lower hills, middle hills and higher hilly areas. In the past 24 hours, the lowest temperature was recorded at Sumdho at (-)1 degree Celsius.
  • Tamil Nadu: The light to moderate rainfall is likely at a few places with thunderstorms and lightning at one or two places is likely to occur over Tamilnadu, Puducherry and Karaikal area. In addition, the heavy rain is also likely to occur at isolated places over Tiruvallur, Ranipet and Kancheepuram districts.
