Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, currently in Enforcement Directorate (ED) custody, has issued directives for addressing water and sewer-related issues in certain areas of the city.
Water Minister Atishi conveyed the instructions, received late on Saturday, during a press conference.
Despite his personal circumstances, Kejriwal’s concern for Delhiites moved Atishi, who mentioned that the chief minister also emphasized deploying adequate water tankers to areas facing shortages as summer approaches.
Kejriwal urged coordination with the chief secretary and other officials and suggested seeking assistance from Lt Governor VK Saxena if necessary.
The Delhi CM was arrested on Thursday in connection with a money-laundering case linked to the excise policy. He is in ED custody until March 28.
The AAP has said Kejriwal will continue as chief minister even if he is sent to jail.
