ideaForge Technology Ltd secured defence contracts worth more than Rs 100 crore on Friday, November 14, earning one of its biggest single-day ever wins

Indian Army and Ministry of Defence placed major orders as they continue to expand the use of UAVs for surveillance and tactical missions.

What is the Rs. 75 crore emergency order?

The Army placed an order of around Rs. 75 crore for ideaForge’s newly launched ZOLT tactical UAV under Capital Emergency Procurement. The company is expected to deliver the drones within 12 months.

ZOLT, showcased at Aero India 2025, is ideaForge’s next-generation tactical drone designed for long-range surveillance, intelligence gathering and precision payload delivery.

It is built to operate in high-threat, high-altitude and signal-contested areas, with strong ECCM (Electronic Counter-Countermeasure) capabilities, including GNSS-denied autonomy and resistance to communication jamming.

Ankit Mehta, CEO and Co-founder, ideaForge Technology Ltd said, “This order underscores our commitment to delivering best-in-class systems to our soldiers and creating long-term value for our shareholders while actively shaping the future of this technology and driving adoption.”

The UAV can support missions ranging from border security and counter-insurgency to tactical strike assistance, and its VTOL design allows it to take off and land even in tough terrain.

Additional Rs 30-crore order for SWITCH V2

ideaForge also received a separate order worth about Rs 30 crore for its hybrid SWITCH V2 UAV, which was also displayed at Aero India 2025.

SWITCH V2 is already battle-tested and in use by the Army for ISR operations. Delivery of this batch will be completed within six months.

Together, the ZOLT and SWITCH V2 contracts highlight ideaForge’s growing role as India’s leading UAV maker and a key supplier to the Army’s modernisation efforts.

Three years of R&D behind ZOLT’s EW- Ready design

The company says ZOLT’s development draws from three years of work on electronic warfare resilience. This preparation, it says, has given ideaForge a strong technological edge and supports India’s move toward greater self-reliance in defence UAVs.

According to ideaForge, these new orders further strengthen its position as a reliable technology partner to the Indian armed forces, with the capability to scale indigenous innovations into active, on-ground military use.
