The Gujarat ATS (anti-terrorist squad) arrested four ISIS terrorists at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad on Monday, May 20. All the four accused are Sri Lankan nationals.
The arrests were made ahead of the arrival of three IPL teams at the Ahmedabad airport for the qualifier and eliminator match in Narendra Modi Stadium. The eliminator match is scheduled on May 22 between Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challenger Bengaluru.
As per a report by a regional news channel, the Gujarat ATS has taken the suspects to an undisclosed location for interrogation.
There is no information on the intention behind the presence of terrorists in Ahmedabad. However, security has been tightened at the airport.
