Jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi on Thursday claimed responsibility for the killing of Khalistani terrorist Sukhdool Singh in Canada. A few moments later, his rival in Punjab, Jaggu Bhagwanpuria, also claimed responsibility for the killing.

Sukhdool Singh alias Sukha Duneke, an alleged ally of the Bambiha gang, was shot dead by unidentified assailants on Wednesday. Duneke, who hailed from Moga, was wanted in Punjab in cases of extortion, attempt to murder and murder.

Earlier today, Lawrence Bishnoi shared a post saying that he was responsible for killing Duneke. “Sukhdool had murdered our brother Gurlal Brar and was also behind the killing of Vicky Middukhera as well as kabaddi player Sandeep Nagal Ambian,” Bishnoi said in his Facebook post.

Lawrence Bishnoi is currently behind bars in Ahmedabad in a drugs smuggling case being investigated by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). He is also an accused in the Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala murder case.

Moments after Lawrence’s social media post, another Punjab-based gangster, Jaggu Bhagwanpuria, also claimed responsibility for the murder. Bhagwanpuria was once a close aide of Bishnoi but both turned foes later. Bhagwanpuria alleged he was taking revenge for Sandeep Nagal Ambian.

Sukhdool Singh’s killing in Winnipeg, Canada, came amid growing diplomatic tensions between India and Canada over the killing of another Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Surrey, British California, earlier in June. Nijjar, who was wanted in India, was gunned down outside a gurdwara.
